I found out that it can be done with the help of informix oledb as a provider.
The computer i was using already had an IBM INFORMIX DRIVER when i checked the computer's odbcad32.exe.
also access rights was given there, [ip of the server,username,password,database name, etc] and
upon clicking Test Connection it prompts a success in connection.
My problem is when im trying to do a Linked Server on my sql server, in the provider dropdown
the informix provider is not listed.
