Championship Manager: Season 01/02 is a football management video game in Sports Interactive 's Championship Manager series. It was released for Microsoft Windows in October 2001, and for Mac in November 2001. It was later released on Xbox in April 2002. It was released as freeware in 2008. On the 30th April 2018, all Championship Manager games will stop accepting in-app purchases. This is to allow players reasonable time to finish off any active campaigns and time to use any currencies or in-game items purchased before the Closure Date.
For those of you who are new to the wonderful world of Championship Manager, this game is all about living out the dream of managing your favorite football team. No one needs to be left out because the comprehensive coverage gives you all the teams from 26 major leagues around the world. The game contains an enormous amount of data, which is presented in such a fluid way that you can move quickly between screens to compare and filter information that lets you make the critical decisions based on facts not just 'gut feel'. What happens now?
- Please be advised that these games are no longer available to download or update from the App Store or Google Play store. This means that if you delete the app from your device, you will no longer be able to install it again from either platform.
- On the 30th April 2018, all Championship Manager games will stop accepting in-app purchases. This is to allow players reasonable time to finish off any active campaigns and time to use any currencies or in-game items purchased before the Closure Date.
- On the 31st May 2018 (“Closure Date”), all backend server based services for these games will cease. After this time, the game may appear to be still usable on your device, however any remotely served content and related aspects of the games will cease to work as expected. All support for the games will end at this point.
